True enough, the princess is indeed beautiful, to an unbelievable point at that.  

 

With a princess like that, if she had existed in the world of Shien’s previous life, she’d probably be spoken of in the same breath as those such as Helen of Troy.  

 

Although Shien himself had never seen just how beautiful renowned beauties like Helen really wre, there’s no way that they’d be even more beautiful than a real goddess, right?  

 

But what about this princess?  

 

Even goddesses paled before her.  

 

When she showed herself up on that balcony, Shien was also entranced.  That was indeed true.  

 

If it was before he had come to this world, Shien was certain that hid imagination would have run wild.  

 

However, after arriving in this world, Shien had already gotten used to beauties.  

 

Question:  Is Vivian not beautiful?  

 

Question:  Is Melika not beautiful?  

 

Or Leisha, Lasha, Lumia or Diere.  Were those beauties not good enough?  

 

Since arriving in this world, Shien has already seen a lot of beauties that were previously unimaginable in his previous life.  Thus, although it can’t be said that he’s immune, he should at least have some resistance, right?

After all, that princess was indeed far above all others when it comes to just looks.  Not even those beautiful girls that Shien had met could quite match up to her.  

 

However, Shien had met a goddess who wouldn’t lose to that princess at all.  

 

Be it in looks, presence, or power, Nien wouldn’t lose one bit against that princess.  She might even be the winner in some aspects.  

 

Given that, even though Shien was awestruck by the princess’s beauty, it was only awe.  He had never seriously considered doing anything with her.  

 

Rather, it’s not like Shien seriously wanted to to anything with any of the beauties that he had seen since coming to this world, right?  

 

It’s not that Shien didn’t lust, it’s just that he didn’t bother going wild with his imaginations.  

 

After all, he hasn’t even fully figured out himself yet.  

 

There were still a lot of mysteries left.  He also doesn’t know if he got swept up in something major.  In order to now end up as a puppet on someone’s strings, Shien had concentrated near exclusively on solving the mysteries before him.  Just raising his own strength was already problematic enough, so he had no time or energy to spend on romance.  

 

Besides, if he’s really desperate, he’s still got good old miss rosy palms.  

 

Goddesses exist to be used as material.  Actually trying to simp for them in reality is just embarrassing.  

 

Of course, the main reason is that getting involved with such troublesome women is just plain masochistic.  Thus, Shien just wants to stay far away and not have anything to do with them.  

 

Rather than becoming a dog panting after the princess, Shien is far more interested in just what’s going on with her Holy Sword and what kind of help she could give him after they met.  

 

Vivian had sated before that the person that she’s having him meet may reveal something about what’s happened to him.

That was the reason why Shien wants to meet her.  It had nothing to do with the fact that she’s a beautiful princess.

As Shien was thinking over a bunch of stuff, Vivian was laboriously dealing with the young noblemen surrounding her.  

 

“My apologies everyone, I have some private needs that require her highness’s help with, so I won’t be able to bring anyone with me.  I hope for your understanding.”  

 

Vivian rejected the various nobles around her like so.  The young nobles who came up to her were somewhat disappointed, but those nobles who didn’t come on over also let out a sigh of relief.  

 

However, there were also individuals who looked at Shien beside her and spoke up unhappily.  

 

“If Miss Vivian is meeting her highness for private matters, then why is she bringing a man with her?”  

 

“This servant should just wait outside, right?”  

 

“Yeah.”  

 

It looks like those young noblemen just doesn’t want Shien to have any contact with their idol.  Even if Shien wasn’t a threat, to them, the fact that he was male makes him no good.  

 

Thus, Shien made a decision.  

 

“Actually, I had some private matters I wanted to discuss with you gentlemen as ell.  How about accompanying me to the corner over there.”  

 

As he said that, Shien got ready to act.

“D-Don’t be rash…!”  

 

Vivian got quite the scare.  She hurriedly grabbed Shien’s hand and held him back.  

 

The young noblemen around them also got quite the scare.  

 

Although they didn’t quite believe that Shien would actually attack them, when they saw that Shien didn’t look like he was joking around at all, those spoiled boys couldn’t help but get scared.  

 

Thus, those noblemen all ran away, only leaving behind a few tough words like a bunch of useless delinquents.  

 

“That’s what you call nobility?”  

 

Shien started feeling like a middle ages setting fantasy world wasn’t all that great.  

 

It was Vivian instead who had a helpless look on her face.  

 

“Even though you act like you want to avoid trouble, why is it that you act so recklessly at times?”  

 

Vivian really doesn’t get it.  

 

Shien had a reply for that.  

 

“I do dislike trouble, but it’s not to the point where’s I’d stick my head in my shell like a turtle.”  Shien didn’t bother mincing words, “Some things do need to be endured.  Enduring on major matters is a good thing, but if you’re ducking your head even on minor issues, then you’ll really end up a ninja turtle.”  (T/N:  The word Ninja is written as “one who endures”.  Combined with the fact the turtle metaphors used for cowardice, that’s where the ninja turtle comes from)

 

This had been mentioned before.  Shien doesn’t want to act like those novel protagonists who holds themselves back all the time.  When facing small fries, just kick their asses.  There’s no need to make a big deal out of it.

“It’s fine to lower your head if you’re the weaker party.  Reality is cruel after all.  However, if you can’t act freely even with a cheat, then what’s even the point of having a cheat?”  

 

That’s the reason.  

 

“What kind of logic is that?  And what the heck is a ninja turtle or cheat?  I don’t understand at all?”  Vivian rolled her eyes at him and spoke in an annoyed tone, “Anyways, this is the royal palace, so at least follow the rules.”  

 

With that, Vivian didn’t even bother trusting Shien at all and directly lead him into the princess’s quarters by the hand.  

 

The young noblemen around them naturally also saw all this, and they couldn’t help but get jealous.  

 

Vivian was a beauty as well after all.  It was fairly normal for those useless noble brats to turn green with envy at seeing her grabbing onto a man like that.  

 

There were also a portion of the more intelligent noblemen who actually did some thinking at the sight.  

 

“Just who is that man?  

 

“Given Miss Vivian’s attitude, their relationship doesn’t seem like something as simple as normal friends of subordinate.”  

 

“Could he be another powerful rival?”  

 

“Let’s hope not.”  

 

As that kind of discussion progressed, Shien and Vivian left toward the deeper parts of the palace before everyone’s eyes.  

 

Then, a female knight welcomed Shien and Vivian.  

 

Thus, the two of them once again saw that princess.
